The projects for Ommellinen Oy and the Helsinki Administrative Court were both orders of 200 pieces, but their needs were different. The first emphasized product design and structure testing, while the second focused on individual packaging and a neutral corporate gift set.

Ommellinen Oy – 200 Christmas ornaments from the company’s own design
Ommellinen Oy wanted a wooden Christmas ornament that matched their own visual identity. The wish was for a round ornament about 8 centimeters in size, with the vine from the Ommellinen logo visible at the top and the company name at the bottom.
Case summary
First prototype ready in under an hour from finished material
Ommellinen sent the request for quotation on December 3rd, 2018, and we responded the same day. The customer delivered the design material the next day, but the cutting lines of the first file were not yet suitable for laser cutting as is.
When the corrected file arrived on December 5th at 9:20 AM, we processed the material for laser cutting and produced the actual wooden prototype. A photo of the finished model was sent to the customer at 9:59 AM – only 39 minutes after receiving usable material.

Speed did not mean compromising on quality
The first prototype looked good, but the customer and Eco Decor pointed out the thinnest leaves and stems of the vine. Before starting production of 200 pieces, the durability of the prototype was practically tested.
During testing, it was noticed that some of the thinnest leaves on the left side could be damaged by a strong impact. For this reason, the vine structure was reinforced, a few leaves were modified, and the structure of the letter O was corrected.
A new version was produced and sent to the customer for approval on the same day. Actual production only began after the final confirmation.

Result
The finished ornament retained Ommellinen's recognizable vine pattern and company name. At the same time, the delicate parts of the product were reinforced so that the ornament was suitable for producing, packaging, and regular use in a batch of 200 pieces.
Ommellinen's project demonstrates that fast service and careful product development can go hand in hand. The customer received the first model within an hour of delivering usable material, but mass production only started after testing the structure, making corrections, and final approval.

Helsinki Administrative Court – 200 individually packaged Christmas decorations
The Helsinki Administrative Court requested a quote for 200 wooden Christmas balls featuring the organization's own logo or name. The goal was to create a ready and easily distributable Christmas gift set for the staff.

After receiving the customer's details, we designed the appearance of the Christmas ball and provided a digital preview. The proof allowed checking the placement of text or logo, layout, and the overall look of the ornament before producing the large order.

From joint packaging to a ready gift set
The first quote was calculated on the assumption that all Christmas decorations would be delivered in one package. However, the customer inquired about the possibility of having each product ready in a separate gift package.
We offered options of a cellophane bag with background paper or a small gift box. The Helsinki Administrative Court chose green boxes and green tissue paper.

The request was taken into account so the ornaments could be distributed as-is as the Helsinki Administrative Court’s own Christmas gifts. A similar neutral packaging is also suitable for companies, associations, and reselling partners who want to include the product in their own gift sets.
Delivery was arranged for the agreed date
The completed order of 200 pieces was packed into three shipping boxes and sent via express service. The customer received tracking information as soon as the order left the workshop.

The result was 200 personalized and individually packaged Christmas ornaments, ready to be distributed as the Helsinki Administrative Court’s own Christmas gift.
